Richard reports on the race:
This event is a World Championship Qualifier and if you can finish in the top
10 in your age category then you stand a very good chance of qualifying (as
there were only 10 in the 55-59 category....)
Due to road works being set up Friday afternoon (without letting anyone know),
the organisers had to make some very last minute changes to the cycle route - so
it was probably nearer 37k. Not sure why the run course was 'short' but I
would love to have done 10k in 33 minutes ! Lets just say it was between 5 and
5.5 miles. I really must work on my transitions as I lost 2nd place fiddling
about with shoes and kit.
Having said that it was a great race and all set within National Trust land and
picturesque Sherwood Forest
