A very muddy day and it just got muddier, Bushy wasn’t too bad, a bit slippy in places glad I wore my studs tho’. Met up with Carl before the race, Carl hadn’t planned to do all 3 races, but I think the lure of the coveted red t-shirt was too much to resist. No time to hang about after the finish, straight to our cars and off to Nonsuch for the 10:00 Parkrun. Made the start in good time and met up with Carl for his 50th Parkrun (Well done on your 50th Parkrun Carl). Nonsuch was very muddy but my trusty studs kept me on my feet for the duration. Our stroll to the car park was a bit too leisurely and realising that we only had 25 minutes to get to Riddlesdown I made a very quick change into my trainers for the drive and put my trust in Mr Satnav and set off. I made Riddlesdown at 11:03 and sprinted to half Kilometre to the start………….thankfully the organisers had delayed the start for 15mins so I was able to make all 3 races. Carl didn’t make the last race. What happened Carl? Was it the cross town traffic or were you trying to preserve your new trainers? If it was the latter you made the right choice, having arrived at 11.03 I didn’t think I could spare the time to change back into my studs so set off in my trainers. Bad move! Riddlesdown was a mud fest, lots of comical slipping and sliding but made it round in 27:32 which concluded the morning’s run in a collective time of 2hours 4 minutes and 21 seconds.
