Soon after returning home I received a phone call from my son in North London saying that he had received an email saying he had just completed the Brighton and Hove Parkrun in 370th position of the 378 finishers, in 39m 25s, age-graded score 33.4%, somewhat lower than usual for running around 20min. He guessed of course that I had inadvertedly used his bar-code, of which I keep a copy. It is interesting that the Parkrun phenomenon, with about 49000 runners performing every week, processes a volume of informatiom matched pro rata only with that managed by the Harriers statistician. |
