This weekend I decided to see if I could manage three events over 24
hours.
The first was a muddy race on Saturday in Silverstone - the Rock Solid
Race, 10k of obstacles that combined climbing over, climb under, lots and
lots of mud, water, carrying logs, hurtling down slides and more mud!
After dashing home it was then the two hour drive to Norfolk for the Round
Norfolk Relay, we were joined by Noel Jones - Noel was doing leg 12, 20
miles and myself leg 11, 12.45 miles for Fetcheveryone. My leg was at 10pm
and Noel's directly afterwards. We then left Norfolk and got back into
Bedford at 5.30am. A quick shower and an hours sleep and we were back in
the car to go and pound the pavements at the Leighton 10. By now the legs
(and body!) were beginning to grumble a little. The Leighton 10 is an
unforgiving extremely undulating run but quite beautiful too. A slow time
but this was expected!
Triple weekend done and large curry for tea. Magic!
Times:
Rock Solid - 2 hrs 03
Round Norfolk Relay leg 11 2 hrs 10
Leighton 10 1hr 42
