Third time lucky with the weather.... .
Auckland's was stiffling humidity
in the middle of their hottest January for some years.
Suffolk was on Oakley 20 day and
the exposed hills in lashing hailstorms made the garmin 'moving'
time of 6:38 a major effort. A fair amount of the 'moving' was
backwards as it was impossible for any forward movement at
times! Pit stops were hard to get motivated to leave!
Yesterday was fantastic. LDWA
offering stunning Northants scenery. Slight drawback were the 43
stiles, plus kissing gates, narrow footbridges, cattle grids and
cows 'guarding' the field exits. All added to the fun and the
printed directions were so easy to follow I only spend a couple
of times circling fields looking for the well hidden stiles.
There's usually someone appearing in a matter of minutes to
rescue you. Made many friends and everyone helps hold gates and
steadies stiles as you clamber over them. Can thoroughly
recommend the experience.
