It was exciting to do a race somewhere completely different, and because of
the trouble with flights leading up to my trip I was totally unprepared and
had to stop off on the way from the airport to buy shoes, socks, shorts and
top! The race started at 8.30 in the morning and was warm and humid, but not
as bad as Flitwick the week before. Fairly flat, I was able to just enjoy it
and see what happened, so was pleased with my jet lagged result. My two 2nd
cousins were also taking part, so there was a bit of a family challenge set!
(Yes, I did come in before them!) There was a half marathon going on at the
same time so there were a few supporters around, and the occasional marshal,
and quite a bit of police presence. Strange to see so many runners and not
recognise any club kit! What was interesting was the organisation which was
very low key - and Harriers are most definitely the best!
