Gt Weston 5

Living in Wellingborough I have run the Gt Weston 5 mile race for the last 5 years but this year was the first time I have run it as a Harrier. The run starts just outside the village of Weston (the other side of Northampton) and goes uphill until it flattens out and follows the road uphill again before it descends down a track into the village of Sulgrave. The route then passes on rough tracks through a number of fields before meeting the road again about half-a-mile from the end. This last half-a-mile is uphill back into Weston where the runners were greeted with warm applause as the finsih line was crossed. I ran the route in 48:08, and although not quite a PB for 5 miles, it was the fastest time I had run for this race.
