My little report (that won me a pair of Sennheisher headphones from Run
Britain)
Fritton Lake Parkrun - In my attempt to progress on the most events ladder
and achieve 50 different events before my 50th Birthday, I got up at the
unearthly hour of 5 am ready for a quick breakfast and the 200 mile round
trip to Fritton Park. I arrived slightly early to be greeted by two middle
aged men dressed in waders and full camouflage gear, I sort of assumed
they were probably not going to be doing the parkrun, this was further
confirmed by the production of several fishing rods and big green
umbrellas. They did, however, kindly point out that I was in the right
place and the arrival of other runners was imminent. I wasn't
disappointed! several runners arrived and the run briefing commenced, I
was very impressed that the 2 lap course was sign posted with small yellow
arrows...Yippee! I thought, at least I can't get lost....wrong! The little
yellow markers were perfectly placed and easy to spot, unfortunately my
eye sight is not so good at the best of times so the arrows were less
obvious to me and on several occasions I amused the runner behind me by
doing a little 180 degree dance before headed back in the right direction.
I have to say that I thoroughly enjoyed the run and rank it as one of the
most beautiful and picturesque courses that I have run. Thank you Friton
Parkrun.
