Twin City Half Marathon Cyberjaya Malaysia Sun 24th January 2016
This race started at 5am which as Malaysia is 8 hours ahead means I was racing while you lot where indulging and congratulating yourselves at the Harriers Award Night. I say racing whereas the term suffering might be more apt as it was still 27+C with 95% humidity and the similar lot of hills as the previous 1/2 I did in Malaysia last week .... resulting in more or less the same time. The only difference was on the start line where we were all milling around like the penguins try to lose heat the Organisers arranged for us to be entertained by Fire Eating Jugglers...it was sweltering enough already and then to have some people spurting out GREAT BALLS OF FIRE
...who thought that was a good idea !! (NOTE PLEASE TO HARRIERS RACE ORGANISING
COMMITTEES).....and then a Michael Jackson look-a-like leading a flash mob....
you start to wonder if lack of sleep/heat induced delirium has kicked in
My time 1:51:11 actually won me the 8th place MV40 Award WHAHOO
which was an enormous cup - a bit awkward to get through airport security - as
obviously I am over 18 years away from AGED 40 ...........being only 22.......
(hard to BELIEVE I KNOW)
