When the organisers, Lake District-based Kendal AC, described the course of this evening 10K road event as "hilly" I realised that there was not going to be any possibility of a club best time. However, I was surprised that there were only 66 runners on the start line on a fine evening. (There had been nearly 3 times as many at previous events in the series.) Perhaps there were some cases of "once bitten, twice shy", but I would not hesitate to have another go at this race. However, I might have to join the significant number reduced to walking part of the course. |
