Chicks Chase 5k

For a winter series the weather was fantastic and a good number of runners participated. The course, as always, was around Caldecotte Lake in Milton Keynes and due to the warm weather, the midges were out in force, luckily the geese stayed in the water this time! It was a good warm up to the start (several hundred metres from the registration point) and we were off. Today I found the course quite difficult, particularly going up the gravel hills, as I didn't want to put too much pressure on my knee (also had to stop three times to adjust my knee, strap or both). But, for some strange reason I got a PB! Now I am feeling slightly gutted as I'm now wondering what I could have got if I didn't have to stop due to injury.... hopefully I will find out in the Summer Series. Several Bedford Harriers also ran and many PB were achieved. I think that we all did very well!! The biscuits at the end were a nice treat :-)
