Three Harriers participated in The Bushy 10K today, myself, Tim and Lesley. It was a warm day and a bit breezy in some areas (sadly not going in the direction that we wanted it to).
The course itself was a mix of road and trail through the forest, flat for most of the course with a few hills that I particularly did not enjoy. It was well marshalled, stopping traffic as appropriate, one water station and there was a definite mix of runners, several being '10K virgins'.
Quite a number of PBs were achieved in this race, including ours, despite
many saying that it was quite a tough race. I am sure that I moaned about it a
bit too much during the race itself.
It was good to receive a medal at the end, but many managed to also pick up
goodie bags as well. Awaiting us in the sports hall was the massage area,
refreshments, changing and showers. There were quite a lot of lovely looking
cakes to choose from and it would have been rude not to eat them!
Well done to the Harriers that took part (including the Rob the photographer).
Thanks must go to Lesley who kept me going...especially up those hills!
