Today I took part in the first running of the Desborough Half Marathon organised by the Desborough Rapid Running Club (Rapid - Run-any-pace-in-Desborough). My unoffical time was 02:28:56. The race was well organised starting from the Desborough Lesiure Centre and ran on country roads going through the villages of Arthingworth and Harrington with some great scenary. The route was undulating and challenging especially the two big hills at 6 and 10 miles. Four other Harriers were there including Marianne Williamson who was second lady. Despite the hils and the warm weather it was a really good event with a goody bag that included a technical shirt, medal and a few other 'freebies'. Living in Wellingborough it is on my door-step and so I hope to be back next year on Sunday 29th June 2014.
